2018 Parish Pilgrimage to Lourdes.
Theme “Do whatever he tells you.” 

This year we started off on a Friday, the 20th July. We gathered at St. Richard’s at 4.15 in the morning to be picked up by our transport to Manchester Airport to be in plenty of time for our flight to Toulouse.




































At Toulouse we were met by a coach to transport us to Lourdes to arrive in plenty of time to freshen up and go to the grotto to leave petitions and light candles, before it started to rain, but that was the only time as each day dawned bright and warm. In the evening we had our welcome Mass in the Sacre Coeur chapel. Each day we celebrated at Mass in varying locations with lots of free time On the Wednesday we had Mass at Bartres, then went on to the lake of Lourdes for a short break, Thursday there was the anointing of the sick in the morning and in the afternoon we had the farewell service, this was held in the Rosary Basilica because of the heat. Next morning we had to leave at 6.30am as the “tour de France” was starting from St. Joseph’s gate that day. Apart from a minor hitch at the airport we had a very pleasant journey to Manchester when our transport arrived to bring us back to Skelmersdale. The end of another wonderful pilgrimage.
