Martillac Pilgrimage June 2018

On Tuesday 19th June was the date for the Holy Family Lay Associates Pilgrimage to Martillac. Six from Skelmersdale met up with a group from Rock Ferry at Liverpool Airport, we then flew to Bordeaux and met up with people representing Ireland, Scotland and Wales who were going in honour of the Ven. Pierre Bienvenu Noailles, the founder of the Holy Family Association in Bordeaux where he had lived most of his life. One excursion was to a little town called Verdelais site of ancient pilgrimage, also there, was the grave of the artist Toulouse-Lautrec and samples of his work around the town. We also visited Bordeaux and visited sites associated with the founder. We had lots of time to relax and enjoy the good food that was available to us until our departure on the 26th June having made lots of new friends.
