The 2025 Jubilee Year: Jubilee Churches
As part of the Jubilee celebrations, The Bishops of England and Wales, may, if they wish, nominate Jubilee Churches where those making a pilgrimage can gain a plenary indulgence by making a pilgrimage to these churches and performing one of the acts prescribed by the church. “An indulgence is a remission before God of the temporal punishment due to sins whose guilt has already been forgiven…” (See ‘The Gift of the Indulgence’ vatican.va)
Archbishop Malcolm has established the following to be the Jubilee Churches of this Archdiocese:

The Metropolitan Cathedral of Christ the King at Liverpool

The Co-cathedral of Saint Mary of the Isle at Douglas

The Church and Shrine of Saint Anne and Blessed Dominic at Saint Helens

Saint Oswald and St Edmund Arrowsmith church at Ashton-in-Makerfield

Saint Mary church in Chorley

Shrine Church of Saint Mary at Warrington

The Prison Chapels of HMP Altcourse, HMP Garth, HMP Hindley, HMP Liverpool, HMP Risley, HMP Wymott And Isle of Man prison
We are encouraged to make a special pilgrimage to at least one of the Jubilee Churches during the Jubilee year.
