For Pope Francis, who died Monday 21st April
We pray with love
for beloved Pope Francis.
May the Lord receive him
into the kingdom of heaven.
May he rest in peace.
We give thanks for his work
and example of love and service.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen.

St Francis of Assisi
Golden Anniversary - June 2025
In June this year St Francis of Assisi Church celebrates 50 years as a church for the parishioners of Skelmersdale.
We are planning a number of events over the next few months to celebrate this mile stone (including a Cabaret Night and a Race Night and other fund-raising events) – so watch out for updates in the newsletter.
To start the ball rolling we are looking for your help to set up a “wall of fame” with any pictures you might have of special occasions at the church.
Do you have pictures of Weddings, Baptisms, First Holy Communions? If so can we borrow them?
All you need to do is either hand in a physical photograph to either the office or to one of our greeters in Church – and if you do this please make sure you put your name on the back of the photo so we can make sure you get it back – or if it’s an electronic image can you email it to the Parish Office: strichard@rcaol.org.uk
Please let us have as much detail of the photo as you can – dates, names etc.
Our final celebration Mass will take place on Friday 20th June – so make a note in your diary for that date. Again, more details of this will be published as the date approaches.

The Catholic Community of Skelmersdale is served by three churches and six schools. As one parish we strive to build a living community of family and friends. Together we try to love one another and put into practice the way Jesus taught us to live. We believe that belonging to the Church enriches lives on so many different levels and in so many different ways.
In this family of faith:
– Each person is valued
– Each person is welcomed
– Each person is loved
A warm welcome awaits you!
